Day 119: Grocer

Amish Grocer on East 43rd Street

Amish Grocer on East 43rd Street

Manhattan has an abundance of delis and convenience stores, but not a lot in the way of full-line supermarkets, so on our way from the 24 hour clinic (Melinda’s TB test came back negative!) back to the hotel we were pleasantly surprised to see a sign for an “Amish Grocer” on 43rd Street. I saw no evidence that it is Amish, but it was definitely a grocery store. After living on the west side of Manhattan, in the Chelsea neighborhood, when we were here in 2012-13, this is our first time staying in the Midtown East area of town and we are liking it very much, enough to consider living here after our time in Shanghai ends (and before our retirement in Boise, Idaho commences.
