East versus West

I jerry-rigged my bike with two small messenger bags to serve as panniers so I could carry a jacket, a camera and some water.

  1. That and the blue eyes and blonde hair…

I am really enjoying these posts. You write SO well, and should turn these posts and photos into a book! In any case, please be cautious and remain a free man.

    • lorraine, whatever gives you the idea that I’d do anything that could possibly impair my freedom? 😉

    • Billy, Locks are definitely needed here if you want to keep your bike longer than a day.;-) There is a lock attached to the center post, just in front of the panier. I had stopped to drink water, i never left the bike.

  2. The photos show most of the local bikes as being single speed with rim brakes. Your bike would definitely be a desirable target. I would be afraid to leave it even secured to available lock stanchions. In Crotia I had a merchant guard my bike while I shopped inside the store. We completed the transaction in the doorway.
