Day Forty-eight: Clear Sky

This last full day in the United States had us flying from Boise, Idaho to Seattle, Washington, once again leaving behind Izaak in the care of Hannah and Mike Sharp. (It was heartwarming to see how excited Izaak became when Mike came home from his weekend trip to Las Vegas.) In Seattle the day was spent trying to get 9 suitcases worth of stuff into 7 suitcases (Melinda stocked up on over-the-counter medicines that are unavailable in China, food products she craved, as well as a case of t-shirts and a case of mini-basketballs for work). Finally, we pried James away from his mid-term studying for one last supper and now we’re getting a final dose of the Winter Olympics. In the midst of that I took this picture from the 26th floor of the Grand Hyatt Downtown, marveling that I could see the foothills of the Cascade Mountains 30 (+/-) miles to the East. In Shanghai I am lucky if I can see down the block.  This will be the last US based photograph for the next twelve weeks as we return to China and await the arrival of Mia Sharp, in May.
